Beautiful Couple at The Full Moon Resort in the Catskills, By Aperture Photography

Catskills Wedding Photography|Aperture Photography at The Full Moon Resort

I can really understand why couples have their wedding in the Catskill Mountains.   The locations and feel on Big Indian where the Full Moon Resort is, Hunter Mountain, Mohonk Mountain House and Windham have a totally different feel.  The relaxed stress free environment leads to great weddings and great photography.  Don't get me wrong I love urban and semi urban weddings just as much, but they are so different. After all variety is the piece of life.  I have been featured in major magazine's for my wedding photography street scenes in Albany, NY, Rhinebeck, Kingston and New York City. It must be the remote mountain location, and quite surroundings.  I just wanted to share some photos of a wonderful Catskill Mountain Wedding with you.

Aperture Photography Albany and Saratoga Wedding Photographer|I can now call myself a Published Author

featured-member-aperture-photography-01 Well......Life will take a turn or two.  I have two articles published in Photography trade journals.  I guess it's true if you do something you have a passion for you end up being very good at it.  The next one will be in the fall.  These articles were intended for professional photographers, but I thought I would share them with you.  This one is from Photographers SEO.

The Wedding industry is an ever changing industry.  I have had a successful business for 20 years.  But very little about the business is the same. The equipment in my case has gone from Mamiya RZ67 to Canon digital and if I am lucky my beloved Contax 645.  I must admit I love film and the great skin tones and work flow, but it is expensive and in a poor economy many people will just not pay the price.

The biggest change I have seen is the transition from a local brick and mortar yellow page film based industry to a digital web based business.  The other big change is the amount of people in the industry.  Many of the people are great photographers and many are much lower skilled people looking to make a few dollars.  In the last few years I have come to the conclusion that half of the business is the art of photography and the other half is SEO and the developing of a sound SEO plan.  Since I shoot weddings in from NYC, Poughkeepsie and the entire Hudson Valley and Catskills all the way up the Hudson Valley to Saratoga and Albany, NY and everything within 500 miles.  I have to market to a wide range of people.  It is very expense. Aperture spends about 25 % of every dollar getting the word out.  But, I love what I do and know to follow my passion.  As the customers realize that new semi pro or weekend photographers offer poor quality and little value, in the long run, the investment hopefully will pay off.  I hope so for the bride and groom, sake.  The deserve the best on there wedding day.

I was slow to pick up on the importance of SEO.  I was under the false conclusion that it was all about great photographs.  Don’t get me wrong great photography is key and you owe it to your customers.  But I also know if I want continued success I had to join seo-for photographers.  I need to rank high to get more people to view my site .  With the ever growing completion it is plain to see you must take care of the marketing side.

Jill & Ken at 11 North Peral in Albany, NY

What a beautiful full day in Albany, NY.  The bride was dressed in perfect elegance.  The wedding had it all, a mix of class, formality and fun.  It all started in a beautiful suite on State Street. Then a formal high mass at St. Francis of Assisi.  Topped off at the fantastic 11 North Pearl of Albany, NY.  Aperture Photography is was glad to be a part of it.

Aperture Photography in NYC

On Memorial Day Aperture photography spent a fast pace weekend capturing the styles of several of New York's most scenic areas. Here at Aperture Photography we believe that the more energy you put into something, the better it will turn out. We strive for excellence and in keeping with our practice, we captured some incredible moments at the Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central Station, Filth Avenue and Five point graffiti art. We at Aperture Photography were able to capture the complete style and creativity of the high class graffiti art and we promise that any project we undertake will come out with the same perfection.

Kayla and Tom are the new New York, Smart, Stylish, sophisticated and fun.  Their energy and creativity is amazing.

It's all in the details ! Acra Manor, in the Catskills

It is hard to find time to blog this time of year.  Here is just a tease.  There is more to come. We spend so much time shooting and editing in Photoshop.  I know a wedding takes at least 60 hours to edit.  I know it seems like a lot, but I am picky and want everything to be the best. Here is a little tease from Acra Manor.  They are so nice and everything was fabulous.  The food was so good.

2012 Wedding Season is shaping up to be Catskill Mountain Wedding Season for Aperture Photography

I love to shoot wedding anywhere anytime, but the mountains just seem to add a visual interest and a sense of privacy for the couple that is queue.  Aperture Photography service about 200 mile radius.  But the Catskill Mountains are home to me.  All the weddings are a short drive and it is sure nice to save time.  But the most important thing is the weddings photograph just beautifully! Here are some of the mountain locations I cannot wait to shoot at. Onteora The Mountain House, Mohonk Mountain House, Acra Manor, The Copper Tree Restaurant and Kaatskill Mountain Club, The Club at Windham Mountain, Legends Lounge,  Windwood, Seasons Restaurant, Hunter Ski Center just to name a few

Thanks Brides and Grooms for letting me create in one of the most beautiful places in the world.  Aperture Photography and the Catskills make me smile
