I had the pleasure to photograph two weddings in Poughkeepsie. Both at the incredible Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. I am so glad I was there. The are consistently excellent. There timing is right on. It is so helpful t0 a photographer and the photography when you know the venue is perfect. The pressure is so much less. It was so much fun to walk the streets to Poughkeepsie shooting bridals with the historic backdrops. Here is a few shots from this weekend.

The beautiful Bride
These photographs were taken last Friday. A rain storm washed out the New York State Thruway. You could not even drive in the storm. But as it always seems to be everything works out. I got to the wedding site Chadwick Lake in Newburgh, NY and 10 minutes later and a soft beautiful light overcame the site. In all the years Aperture Photography finds a way and seems to have an angel to help me get great photographs at weddings. The couple was as nice as could be and brave to walk to some places that were a bit wet, but boy was in worth it.

The Love of a Father and his Daughter
As a photographer it goes without saying there are must have photographs. But, the photographs I love most are the one you get when you just open your mind to the feeling and emotions of the day. This weekend Aperture Photography was at the famous Anthony's Pier Nine in New Windsor New York and the day was filled with great moments. I captured some shots that made a person who has been a wedding photographer for well over 20 years stop and say to myself " that is special" Here is a shot of Dad the groom and his daughter. The love needs no explanation and a picture is truly worth a thousand words.

What a Great Day ! Just Wonderful. Stone Ridge and New Paltz
Over the last 20 years the busiest season has moved to September and October. Sure Summer is still busy, but Fall is now the Upstate, NY and the Northeast USA go to season. The cooler weather, Fall foliage or generally hotter summers has changed the way people plan. The Hudson Valley is the greatest place It is known for beautiful Falls and great refreshing days. I still love the summer weddings and just did 4 in a row with heat indexes of over 100 degrees and the photographs look great.

I was a beautiful day. Even though the weather channel said it would rain. It was a busy day with a great family and beautiful surroundings, Aperture Photography started

shooting the wedding in Newburgh and stopped at the The Grandview on the Hudson River and the photos were amazing. They have a great location and the view was spectacular. Then we went to the Poughkeepsie Grand. I never say it look so beautiful. Just perfect. They hand made table cloths and they were works of art. Just an amazing day ! More to come.

Tomorrow is a real busy day. I just tested every piece of equipment, read my notes, programmed my GPS (although I have photographed been at these venues many times) No chances for me. The cars gas tank is topped off and it's time to relax. Tomorrow is time for creativity and making memories. I love a causal style of portrait for weddings. I was classically trained and can do the formals that are almost royal. But, I much prefer a more relaxed style.
