Depth of Field in Wedding Photography|Aperture Photography Saugerties Photographer

As we all know what we don't show is often more interesting then what we show.  In photography.  Photography is all about leading the eye to what the main focus of the photograph.  Some times you just don't want to show the papers, coke cans or the normal items that are in a brides room, but the light is hitting the bride just right and she looks great.  No problem using a fast lenses and a wide aperture will leave her in focus and blur the distracting background. On the other hand Aperture Photography shoots many weddings in the Catskills of New York.  The scenery is just breathtaking.  You want to show it. So you set your camera lens so it will revel both the bride and the surrounding mountains.

Please drop us a line at Aperture Photography " All the info is on our web site at http://aperturephoto.com

I just wanted to show the ring and a bit more and blur out the distracting background.

In this Engagement shot the Empire State building was critical to see so I set the camera to show both.

I am one of those artistic photographers are who is always looking for the master piece shot.  I will admit it I love it when wedding photograph takes the leap into a work of art, maybe even a master work.

But I have learned over the years that great fun shots at a reception or anytime during the day capture joy and fun that is just as important as any masterpiece. In fact the fun shot contrasting with the " master piece"  really make both type of shot better and round out the collection of the story of the day.

Here are some shots by Aperture Photography in the Albany,  Saratoga area that are great fun.  Joy at times surpasses the magizine shot.  For more shots of various types please visit our web site at http://aperturephoto.com

Tips for getting great Wedding Photographs | Aperture Photography Albany Wedding Photographer

Aperture Photography Weddings

Engagement sessions increase the confidence and comfort level of the bride and groom in front of the camera and allow the bride and groom to practice having their photo taken in a fun, no-stakes atmosphere. Ultimately, an engagement session will let the bride and groom see why the photographer might tell them to do something funny, and this leads to wedding day comfort and trust in the photographer."  Take a look at our sire at http://aperturephoto.com

Choose someone who is a professional and not just anyone with a digital camera and a website. Make sure the photographer you choose has an education as a photographer, has apprenticed or interned with other photographers and paid their dues, and has the experience and ability to consistently capture the moments of your wedding no matter what situations may arise.  Please hire Aperture Photography

Too many times, brides fall for something trendy in photography. It is critical that these images stand the test of time and are valued for each following generation. Trends are fun but rarely last! Look for a photographer with a classic shooting style, and be wary of too much Photoshop and digital 'tricks' and manipulations

During the family portrait time designate someone that you trust and who knows your family and friends to be in charge of organizing people for portraits. That person can gather the people needed, direct them on what shots they will be in, and then release them when they are done. It keeps things moving quickly, smoothly, and enjoyably.

And never worry about the weather.  With over 20 years of handling every type of weather everything will be fine..

Aperture Photography Afforable Value | Westchester County Wedding Photographers

In a very price driven market photography should be a good value.  Aperture Photography will be sure to give you great value and affordable wedding photography.  But be careful not to sacrifice quality.  Wedding Photography takes many years to master.   Even great portrait photographers who are world famous will not do weddings.  Yes, a friend or a relative may have shot some good landscapes or can snap some nice shots when the pressure is off.  This often leads to disappointment and hard feelings.  Let the friends and family enjoy the wedding.  Let Aperture Photography provide you with the irreplaceable memories at a reasonable cost.

It is ok not to be a totally photo-journistic wedding photographer ? Sure it is !

Some Wedding Photographers have a hard time with input from anyone.  They like to say that my style is this or that and will not deviate from an artistic dogma.

Aperture Photography has an editorial style with a mix of photojournalism mixed in.  We would prefer not to set up to many shots, but what counts in the end is the Bride and Groom.  They must be happy and yes, " it is all about them" !

I was looking at some different so called "pure photojournalistic" wedding photographers Most of the pictures are posed. The photographer told the bride and groom what to do. To kiss or not. The fire , clouds and who know what was added and edited in Photoshop.

True photo-journalistic wedding shots are those which are caught without the bride and groom knowing someone took their shot.   Although I would like to shoot some weddings in the pure form it is just not what most couples want and need. Couples want current style and formal shots and some shots there friends had at there wedding mixed in with candid photojournalistic shots.  I just got an e-mail from a bride, and it ad dozens of set up shots with the typical groomsman holding the bride in the air and every trick shot.  Though not my taste I will study the shots sent to me and  give the nice couple what they want.  I will mix in some my unique style to balance out the photograph.

l think it will be fun and accept the challenge of photographing a wedding outside of my style.  I will knock it out of the park too.

Aperture Photography photographs weddings in the Westchester. Poughkeepsie, Albany and Hudson Valley Area.  It is a diverse client base.
