You have heard it many times " It's all in the details.  They are so important to telling the story of a wedding. The really pull a wedding together.  I find the time when the bride is not available to be photographed. Wedding photographers must be efficient and experience matters. The time is their to get great shots without missing a thing. . A macro lens is very important  I use a 100mm f/2.8 IS macro.  Rings, flowers, shoes  and family keepsakes all make good detail shots. If prefer natural light when I have it.  But you can get great shots without it.

Depth of Field in Wedding Photography|Aperture Photography Saugerties Photographer

As we all know what we don't show is often more interesting then what we show.  In photography.  Photography is all about leading the eye to what the main focus of the photograph.  Some times you just don't want to show the papers, coke cans or the normal items that are in a brides room, but the light is hitting the bride just right and she looks great.  No problem using a fast lenses and a wide aperture will leave her in focus and blur the distracting background. On the other hand Aperture Photography shoots many weddings in the Catskills of New York.  The scenery is just breathtaking.  You want to show it. So you set your camera lens so it will revel both the bride and the surrounding mountains.

Please drop us a line at Aperture Photography " All the info is on our web site at http://aperturephoto.com

I just wanted to show the ring and a bit more and blur out the distracting background.

In this Engagement shot the Empire State building was critical to see so I set the camera to show both.

Classic Bridal Portrait

Aperture Photography has invested in some of the lasted equipment that will enable us to provide you with photographs that were imposable just last year.  The Canon, Nikon, Sony camera and lens war has taken technology to a level thought impossible.  If the photographer is not talented and knows what he or she is doing the equipment will not help at all, but a seasoned pro with 10-20 years of shooting weddings can use this equipment to creative highs.  I guess what I am saying it goes back to talent and experience.  The bride and groom will really benefit.  I have spend so much time in classes with masters and practicing my craft I cannot wait to create beautiful weddings for my bride and groom and families.  Aperture Photography is a Albany, Hudson Valley Saugerties Kingston  and Westchester based photographer.  Visit us at http//aperturephoto.com

Why I Carry Three Cameras | Aperture Photography Albany NY Wedding Photographer

Wedding Photographer Aperture Photography Hunter Mountain

For many parts of each wedding I shoot I have 3 cameras with 3 very different lenses.  Any photographer who really know his art know it is the lenses that are the artists paint brushes.  It is hard to do put I need the right lens to get the right shot.  Most people use general purpose lenses.  The results will be ok, but never spectacular.  My style is artistic, and leans toward the fine art side.  I have been doing this so long I just know what lens I need to get the look and feel I need.  Changing lenses is not fast enough and brakes my train of thought.  I like to have all fast lenses on the camera so I have the flexibility to through the background out of focus.  I need one long lenses that can reach out and capture candid moments.  I also need an exotic lens that shots at f 1.2 to give a ethereal look when I feel it is right.  Sure I have great assistants, put I still need to be lightning quick.  Aperture Photography prides its self in wedding photography that is art not just photography.

I am one of those artistic photographers are who is always looking for the master piece shot.  I will admit it I love it when wedding photograph takes the leap into a work of art, maybe even a master work.

But I have learned over the years that great fun shots at a reception or anytime during the day capture joy and fun that is just as important as any masterpiece. In fact the fun shot contrasting with the " master piece"  really make both type of shot better and round out the collection of the story of the day.

Here are some shots by Aperture Photography in the Albany,  Saratoga area that are great fun.  Joy at times surpasses the magizine shot.  For more shots of various types please visit our web site at http://aperturephoto.com
